Community Garden Project

We are excited to announce that in the spring of 2012, we are starting a community garden in our back parking lot. The raised garden boxes are already built and the soil is in and settling over the winter so it will be ready to go when the snow melts.

We will be building a compost bin in the next while as well. This bin will help us reduce our carbon footprint. Members of the community can use it, people hosting events happening at Hillside can use it, and the church community will as well. The mulch produced by the container will then be added to the garden and will be beneficial in reducing garbage waste and enriching the soil of the garden over the years.

Plots are now available. If you are interested in joining the community garden, please contact margaretgoodyear@gmail.com.

Ethos

Hillside Community Garden will provide opportunities for those in our community to meet, share, learn and grow. The core ethos of our garden will be represented by social inclusion and environmental responsibility.
