The exterior of our community space on Thompson Road (a former bowling alley) is attractive, but – like the inside – is still a work in progress with more updates in the works for later this year.
Inside there are the trappings of a revitalization project, including an art gallery, a yoga and taekwondo studio, a collaborative work space (in development), a kids play centre, all sharing the building with a cafe and a performance space.
But it is, in fact, also the home of a faith community.
Our faith community is the energetic core of Hillside. And while our faith doesn’t come with an agenda, it does influence our purpose – to build relationships with people from all walks of life and to be good neighbours to those around us, contributing to the common good.
We do that by serving great coffee and tea, showing inspiring art, showcasing great local music, and being a safe place for people to explore the deeper questions about life, God, meaning, and more. We facilitate neighbourhood programs, partner with great organizations we love to host programs and events, and make our space available for a nominal fee to rent.
Our beautiful neighbourhood space (formerly a bowling alley) is available for various events, classes, parties, conferences, and group meetings, etc. We have a 50-seat cafe, a 300-seat auditorium, and smaller meeting rooms of various sizes available.
