Gatherings
At Hillside, we love to get together. In addition to the regular weekly gatherings listed below, we also have various special events from time to time, such as: spiritual retreats, parties, house parties, family events, camping trips, fundraisers, etc.
Worship Gatherings
Our weekly worship gatherings are on Sundays at 10:00am and include things like: a great cup of coffee, inspiring music, biblical teaching, quality kids programming, super-friendly people, discussion, prayer, communion, community meals, and a time for connection with each other, etc.
All of these various elements work together to create an experience where we can be encouraged, inspired, empowered, reminded, and challenged together as a community of faith. However, we don’t think that Sundays are the “be all and end all” of our life together as a church community. It does not define who we are. We are a community on mission first and foremost. Hubs
“Intentional small communities engaged in God’s mission.” Meeting in homes (and other small venues) throughout the city, people are connecting with each other to share life together and to figure out what following Jesus in their context looks like. Children
During our Sunday morning worship gatherings we offer nursery and pre-school throughout the morning. Kids in grades 1-6 stay in the main worship gathering for the first half of the gathering and then head out to our quality children’s program for things like: crafts, snacks, stories, songs, games, good times. Youth
Every Sunday evening at 5:30pm our high school students gather and make dinner together and then have a time of discussion. Several times a month we get together at various times to volunteer at various social justice places/agencies in the community. Prayer
Prayer is important to us at Hillside. In fact, we think it’s the single most revolutionary act we can participate in. Individuals gather at the church at 9:00am prior to the worship gathering on Sundays, as well as Mondays at 9:30am to pray.
